Re: Fire Sprinkler Permits — Enclave Apartment Homes.

This ]etter shall serve as confirmation that Saker Company has withdrawn as the fire sprinkler contractor for the
Enclave project previously approved and permitted under otv license numba.
Fw�thermore we authorize pennits F07-00174 ttvough F07-00224 to be transferred to Residentia] Fire, the new fire
sprinkler cantractor for the Enclave project.
It is my understending that Residrntial Fire will have their ovw fire sprinkler plans approved and the permits �vill now
be issued under their conhactor's license and Baker Company will be completely removed from any connection or
liability wilh this project. No work has been preformed by Baker Company under these permits.

Dear Mr. Crosby:
Pursuant to your request, this office has made several site visits to the above described project. The purpose of the
visit on July 16, 2007 was to observe the placement of the various holddown hardwaze prior to the concrete pour.
Building 39 was observed during this visit. Minor items, such as holddowns without reinforcing within their shear
cones and minimum rebar clearance, were brought to the attention of the concrete foreman and were corrected during
the pre-slab visi[.
After the visit on July 16, 2007, Building 39 appeared to be in subs[antial conformance wi[h the cast-in-place
holddown requirements of the SWctural Plans.
This office made visits on February 7, 2008 and February 8, 2008, ro observe rough fiaming for the above
mentioned building for substantial conformance to the shvctural plans. Deficient items, (some were quite minor),
were discussed with either Tony Ramos with Westem National Construction or TWR's Framing Foreman.
The rough framing, after our last visit on February 8, 2008, had these deficient items corrected, and appeared to be in
substantial conformance with the structural plans.
These observations are intended only to assist the fiaming contracror in conformance with the structural plans as they
relate to this residential apartment project and are not to be construed as "Special Inspections". The responsibiliry
for such plan wnformance, of course, remains wi[h [he contrac[or. Please do not hesita[e [o contact me at my office

As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. (NMG) has prepared this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Our services during grading
activities included observatiou and testing during utility line trench backfill, footing excavations,
arid hazdscape subgrade prepazations. In addition, NMG has performed special inspection
services, including structural concrete reinforcement; structural concrete placement; stressing of
post-tension cables; welding; hardwaze epoxy fix; and concrete compressive strength testing.
Based on our observation and testing, the above improvements were performed in substantial
compliance with our recommendation, project specification, and the requirements of the City of
Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing, including field density test results and
locations will be provided in separate reports.
