Dear Mr. Crosby:
Pursuant to your request, this office has made several site visics to the above described project. The purpose of the
visit on July 13, 2007 w� to observe the placement of [he various holddown hardwaze prior [o the concrete pour.
Building 30 was observed during this visit. Minor items, such as holddowns without reinforcing within [heir shear
cones and minimum rebar clearence, were brought to the attention of the concrete foreman and were corrected during
the pre-slab visit.
After the visi[ on July 13, 2007, Building 30 appeared to be in substan[ial conformance with [he cas[-in-place
holddown requirements of the Structurel Plans.
This office made site visits on January 7, 2008 and January 10, 2008, to observe rough freming for the above
mentioned building for substantial conformance to the shvctural plans. Deficient items, (some were quite minor),
were discussed with either Tony Ramos with Wes[em National Construction or TW R's Framing Foreman.
The rough framing, after our Iast visi[ on January I Q 2008, had these deficient items corrected, and appeared [o be in
substantial confortnance with ffie structural plans.
These observa[ions are intended only [o assist the framing contractor in confortnance with the structural plans as they
rela[e to this residential apartrnent project and are not to be construed as "Special Inspections". The responsibility
for such plan conformanCe, of course, remains with the conhactor. Please do not hesitate to contact me az my office
should you have any further questions regarding the site observation, or with infortnation included in this report.

As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. WMG) has prepared this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Our services during grading
activities included observation and testing during utility line trench backfill, footing excavations,
and hardscape subgrade preparations. In addition, NMG has performed special inspection
services, including structural concrete reinforcement; structural concrete placement; stressing of
post-tension cables; welding; hardware epoxy fix; and concrete compressive strength testing.
Based on our observation and testing, the above improvements were performed in substantial
compliance with our recommendation, project specification, and the requirements of the City of
Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing, including field density test results and
locations will be provided in sepazate reports.

This letter shall serve as confirruation that Baker Company has withdrawn as the fim sprinkler contractor for the
Enclave project previously approved and permitted under ota license number.
Furthermare we authorize peimits F07-00174 through F07-00224 to be transferred to Residential Fire, the new fire
sprinkler cantcactor for the Enclave project_
It is my understanding that Residential Fire will have their own fire sprinkler plac�s approved and the pennits will now
be issued under their conhactor's license and Baker Company will be completely removed from azry connection or
liability with this project. No work has been preformed by Baker Company under these pertnits.
