This letter shall serve as confirxnation that Baker Company has withdrawn as the fire sprinkler contractor for the
Enclave project previovsly approved and permitted under oiu license number.
Furthermore we authorize permits F07-00174 through F07-00224 to be transCerred to Residential Fire, the new frc
sprinkler canhactor for the Enclave project.
It is my understanding that Residential Fire will ha��c their own fire sprinkler plans approved and the pernuts �vill now
be issued under their contractor's license and Bakcr Company will be completely removed from any connection or
liability with this project. No work has bern preformed by Baker Company under these permits.

As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. WMG) has prepared this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Representatives of NMG
provided geotechnical observation and/or testing during the precise and post grading operations
at the site. Our services during �ading activities included observation and testing during utility
line trench backfill, footing excavations, and hardscape subgrade preparations. In addition,
NMG has performed special inspection services, induding structural concrete reinforcement;
structural concrete placement; stressing of post-tension cables; welding; hardware epoxy Fix; and
concrete compressive strength testing. Based on our observation and testing, the above
improvements were performed in wmpliance with our rewmmendation, project specification,
and the requirements of the City of Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing, including
field density test results and locations will be provided in separate reports.

Pursuant to your request, this office has made several site visits to the above described project. The purpose of the
visit on June 22, 2007 was to observe the placemen[ of the vazious holddown hardware prior to the concrete pour.
Building 21 was observed during this visit. Minor items, such as holddowns withou[ reinforcing within their shear
cones and minimum rebar clearance, were brought to the attention of the concrete foreman and were corrected daring
the pre-slab visit.
After the visit on June 22, 2007, Building 21 appeared to be in substantial conformance with the cast-in-place
holddown requirements of the Structw�al Plans.
This office made si[e visiu on December 6, 2007 and January 3, 2008, to observe rough ftaming for the above
mentioned building for substantial wnformance to the structural plans. Deficient items, (some were quite minor),
were diswssed with either Tony Ramos with Westem National ConsWction or TWR's Framing Foreman.
The rough framing, after our last visi[ on January 3, 2008, had these deficient i[ems corrected, and appeared to be in
substantial conformance with [he structu[al plans.
These observations are intended only to assist the framing contractor in confomiance with the structural plans as they
relate to this residential apartment project and are not to be coastrued as "Special Inspections". 7'he responsibility
for such plan conformance, of course, remains with the contractor. Please do not hesitate to contact me at my office
should you have any fucther questions regarding the site observation, or with infortnation included in [his report.
