Pursuant to your request, this office has made several site visits to the above described project. The purpose of the .
visit on August 13, 2007 was to observe the placement of the various holddown hardwaze prior to the concre[e pour.
Building 42 was observed during this visiL Deficient items, some quite minor, were brought to the attention of the
concre[e foreman and were corrected during the pre-siab visit and Building 42 appeared to be in substantial
conformance with s[ructural drawings.
This office made a site visit on February 19, 2008 and February 21, 2008, to observe rough framing for the above
mentioned building for substantial conformance to the structural plans. Deficient items, some were quite minor, were
discussed with either Tony Ramos with Western National Construction or TWR's Framing Foreman. Observed
deficient items were corrected and the rough framing appeared to be in substan[ial confortnance with the strucmral
drawings by the [ime our visits were complete.
These observations are intended only to assist the &aming contractor in conformance with [he swctural plans as they
relate W this residential apartment project and are not to be construed as "Special Inspections". The responsibility
for such plan confortnance, of course, remains wiffi the contractor. Please do not hesitate to contact me at my office

As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. WMG) has prepared this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Our services during grading
activities included observation and testing during utility line trench backfill, footing excavations,
and hardscape subgrade preparations. In addition, NMG has performed special inspection
services,including structural concrete reinforcement; structural concrete placement; stressing of
post-tension cables; welding; hardware epoxy fix; and concrete compressive strength testing.
Based on our observation and testing, the above improvements were performed in substantial
compliance with our recommendation, project specification, and the requirements of the City of
Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing, including field density test results and
locations will be provided in sepazate reports.
