Pursuant to your request, this office has made several site visiu to the above described project. The purpose of the
visit on March 4, 2008 was to observe [he placement of the various holddown hardware prior to the concrete pour.
Building 46 was observed during this visit. Deficient items, some quite minor, were brought to the attention of the
concrete foreman and were corrected during the pre-slab visit and Building 45 appeared to be in substantial
conformance with structural drawings.
This office made a site visit on March 10, 2008 and April 3, 2008, to observe rough framing for the above
mentioned building for substantial conformance to the structural plans. Deficient items, some were quite minor, were
discussed with either Tony Ramos with Westem National Conshuction or TWR's Framing Foreman. Observed
deficient items were corrected and the rough framing appeared to be in substantial conformance with the structural
drawings by the time our visits were complete.
These observations aze intended onty to assist the framing contractor in conformance with the struchval plans as they
rela[e to this residential aparhnent project and are no[ to be construed as "Special Inspections". The responsibility
for such plan conformance, of course, remaias with the con[ractor. Please do not hesitate to contact me at my office

As requested, NMG Geotechnical, Inc. (NMG) has prepazed this document to present the
results of our geotechnical observation and testing during the precise and post grading
operations, and our special inspection services at the subject site. Our services during grading
activities included observation and testing during utility line h�ench Uackfill, footing excavations,
and hazdscape subgrade prepazations. In addition, NMG has performed special inspection
services, includiag structural concrete reinforcement; structural concrete placement; stressing of
post-tension cables; welding; hardwaze epoxy fix; and concrete compressive strength testing.
Based on our observation and testing, the above improvements were performed in substantial
compliance with our recommendation, project specification, and the requirements of the City of
Costa Mesa. Details of our observation and testing, including field density test results and
locations will be provided in separate reports.
