If you play, to paint or stain your patio frame, header, blocks, etc., it will be much easier to do it now before assembly. It will then only require touching up after your project is complete. 2. Locate first stud in wall nearest the end where you want your patio to start. 3. Fasten ledger to wall using 3/9'x 51/2" lag screws and washers. Space 37' on center, which is gener- ally every other stud.' 4. Fasten posts to slab as shown in illustration, using rough surface post grips and log screws. 5. Fasten rough U -joist hang- ers to ledger on beam center using TECO nails furnished. 6. Set beams injoist hangers and nail. 7. Nail beams to posts using 6" x 6" post cap and TECO nails. 8. Fasten rafters to top of beams using steel angles. 9. Toe nail 2 x 3 ruf lattice to top of rafters spaced 6" on center. 10.
