If these windows open into an interior exit courl, the exit court mus[ have an exit passageway, �hat provides access to the public way. As stated in the rode, these windows used for emergency es- cape or rescue must be operable windows. The intent is tha� they be pf the usual double-hung, horizontal sliding or casement win- dows operated by the wrn of a crank. The building official should evaluate spccial types of windows other than those just desCribed based on Ihe difficulty of operating or removing the windows.
