HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-36 - Property Tax Distribution to City of Newport Beach (Bay Knolls Reorganization)RESOLUTION NO. 03-35 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AGREEING TO A PROPERTY TAX DISTRIBUTION TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH FOR THE PROPOSED BAY KNOLLS REORGANIZATION. WHEREAS, the annexation of unincorporated county islands in Eastside Costa Mesa will serve to promote logical, efficient, and cost effective delivery of public services; and WHEREAS, the County of Orange, the City of Costa Mesa and the City of Newport Beach recognize that these areas would be more efficiently served by either the City of Costa Mesa or the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, as a part of the Bay Knolls Reorganization (RO01-04), the City of Costa Mesa agreed to the detachment of two areas from the City of Costa Mesa, and annexation of the same areas to the City of Newport Beach; and WHEREAS, the two areas to be detached from the City of Costa Mesa, and annexed to the City of Newport Beach are identified as follows; Area 1: 2300-2337 La Linda Place Area 2: 379 — 395 (odd numbers) Santa Isabel, and 2399 Tustin Avenue WHEREAS, it is appropriate to distribute the property tax revenues from the above -identified areas currently received by the City of Costa Mesa to the City of Newport Beach upon the effective date of the annexation. STATE OF CALIFORNIA COUNTY OF ORANGE ) as CITY OF COSTA MESA ) I, JULIE FOLCIK, Deputy City Clerk and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution No. nz_cr was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2n° day of June, 2003, by the following roll call vote: AYES: Monahan, Steel, Cowan, Mansoor, Scheafer NOES: None ABSENT: None IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of the City of Costa Mesa this 3rtl day of June, 2003. Deputy Rity Clerk and ex -officio Clerk of the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa that upon the effective date of the annexation of the following areas to the City of Newport Beach, all property tax revenues generated in the areas identified herein below shall be distributed to the City of Newport Beach.
