HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-72 - State Financial Assistance Through CA Coastal Commission 2008-2009 Whale Tail Grants ProgramRESOLUTION NO. 09- 7 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ACTIONS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN STATE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA COASTAL COMMISSION 2008-2009 WHALE TAIL COMPETITIVE GRANTS PROGRAM. - THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, public outreach education is a significant part of the City's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program; and WHEREAS, funding has become available through the California Coastal Commission's 2009/2010 Whale Tail Competitive Grants Program to promote education; and WHEREAS, the California Coastal Commission (CCC) has received funding to distribute to non-profit and governmental entities to promote such education; and WHEREAS, governmental agencies have been encouraged to apply for grant funding to promote their educational programs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Counccl of= the City of Costa Mesa, hereby authorizes the Public Services Director to execute any actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance via a state grant.
