AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY. OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING
CANYON NUMBER THREE ANNEXATION TO BE
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA.
THE CITY .COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF .COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City. of Costa Mesa
finds and declares that proceedings were undertaken, pursu-
ant to Division 2, Part 2, Chapter 1, Article 5 of the
California Government Code, entitled "Annexation of Uninhab-
ited Territory Act of 1939"; that after due notice and
hearing before the Local Agency Formation Commission that
body on March 26, 1975,.by resolution, approved Canyon No. 3
Annexation to the City of Costa Mesa; that thereafter, all
conditions of the Local Agency Formation Commission relating
to said -annexation were met; that thereafter, the City
Council of the City of Costa Mesa gave notice of its inten-
tion to annex Canyon No..3 Annexation to.the City of`tosta
Mesa and set a public hearing for the..consideration of
written protests against said annexation; that said notice
was published and posted as- required by law, and that a
public hearing was held in the City Council Chambers of the
City of Costa Mesa at 77 Fair Drive, on June 17, 1975, for
the purpose of hearing said protests;. that the City Council
found and declared by resolution that no protests, written
or oral, were presented at the time and place set for hear-
ing said protests.
SECTION 2. Canyon No..3 Annexation, as.shown on Exhibit
"A" attached hereto, is hereby. declared to be annexed to the
City of Costa Mesa, and the Negative Declaration of Environ-
mental Impact is hereby .accepted as filed by. the Executive
Officer with the County Clerk of Orange County, pursuant to
the California Environmental .Quality Act of 1970.
SECT10N.3. This Ordinance .shall take effect and be in
full force thirty .(30) days from and after its passage, and
prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage
thereof, shall be published once in the. Orange Coast Daily
Pilot, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and.
published in the City of Costa Mesa,.together with.the names
of the members. of the City Council voting for and against
the same.

CANYON NO. 3 ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary of the City of
Costa Mesa as created by the "Victoria No. 2 Annexation" to the City of
Costa Mesa, Resolution No. 73-88,. said angle point being the most
northerly corner thereof; thence along the existing boundary of the City
of Costa Mesa as created by the "Victoria No..2 Annexation",,the "Victoria
Street Annexation" (Ordinance No. 65-34), and the "Williams Annexation"
(Resolution No. 70-63), through its various courses in a general south-
easterly, southerly, easterly, northerly, and southeasterly direction_ to
the northeast corner of said "Williams Annexation", said point lying on
the centerline of Canyon Drive, as shown on a map of Tract No. 653, per
map thereof recorded in Book 19, Page 42 of Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California, said point on the centerline being on a
curve concave southeasterly having a radius of 797.44 feet, a radial
line through said point bears south 80°02'00" east; thence departing
from the existing boundary of the City of Costa Mesa, and northerly
along the centerline of said Canyon Drive through a central angle of
09°05'50" an arc distance of 126.61 feet to the point of intersection
with the southeasterly prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 90 of
said Tract No. 653; thence along said lot line, north 70°56'10" west a
distance of 407.00 feet to the northerly corner of said Lot 90; thence
south 46°53'27" west along the northwesterly line of said Lot 90 a
distance of 238.38 feet to a point on the existing boundary of the City
of Costa Mesa and the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing 2.60 acres, more or less.
