HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-12 Revising the Listing of Positions Covered by the Conflict of Interest CodeORDINANCE NO. 87-12 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, REVISING THE LISTING OF POSITIONS COVERED BY THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa finds and declares as follows: 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa has previously adoptd Ordinance No. 77-46, setting forth a Conflict of Interest Code which has been incorporated into the Costa Mesa Municipal Code as Sections 2-401 through 2-408 thereof, and Exhibit A to that ordinance, listing the posi- tions covered by the disclosure provisions of the Ordinance. 2. Since the adoption of Ordinance No. 77-46, the Ordinance was amended by Ordinance No. 85-13 which brought the listing of covered posi- tions in Exhibit A up-to-date. 3. Since the adoption of Ordinance No. 85-13, it has been determined that certain positions should be included within the scope of the Ordi- nance, that is, the Canmunity Development Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant, and the Assistant Development Services Director/Planning. 4. An amendment to the Conflict of Interest Code is required to,bring the listing of covered positions up-to-date. ACCORDINGLY, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa amends the Costa Mesa Municipal Code as follows: SECTION 2. The attached Exhibit A is hereby adopted to replace the prior Exhibit A attached to Ordinance No. 85-13. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days from and after the passage thereof, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from its passage shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa or, in the alternative, the City Clerk may cause to be published a summary of this Ordinance and a certified copy of the text of this Ordinance shall be posted in the office of the City Clerk five (5) days prior to the date of adoption of this Ordinance, and within fifteen (15) days after adoption, the City Clerk shall cause to be published the aforementioned summary and shall post in the office of the City Clerk a certified copy of this Ordinance together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same. A desig- nated employee or official for the purpose of this ordinance shall include a spouse and immediate members of the family. Any person hired or promoted into a job classification included in this ordinance shall become a desig- nated employee for purposes of this ordinance without further action of the City Council.
