CITY OF COSTA MESA
November 24, 1965
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa met in
special session at 12:00 o'clock noon on November 24,
1965, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 695
West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, at the
call of Mayor Robert M. Wilson, notification having
been duly given in accordance with law, for the purpose
of taking action on quitclaiming the City's interest
in the north 100 feet of Lot 30, Block C. of Tract No.
18, excepting therefrom the west 168 feet, for the
purpose of clearing title to the property and obtain-
ing clear title thereto. Following the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag, the invocation was given by
Mayor Wilson, who then called the meeting to order.
Councilmen Present: Pinkley, Jordan, Wilson
Roll Call Councilmen Absent: Barck, Thompson
Officials Present: City Manager, Acting City Attorney,
City Clerk
Vehicle Parking
The Assistant City Attorney reported that the property
District No. 1
acquired by the City from William R. Williams, Jr., and
deed-- Williams
his wife, Florence Williams, as part of the Vehicle
Parking District No l acquisitions, does not result in
clear title to the City because of the fact that the
seller had not probated the estates of their parents.
The Assistant City Attorney reported that said estates
have now been probated and the property sold by the
Ronald R. Howard
heirs to Ronald R. Howard. The Assistant City Attorney
stated that the simplest method to clear title to the
City's parcel is for the City to quit claim its interest
to Ronald R. Howard, the buyer, and for said Ronald R.
Howard to then convey by grant deed the property back
to the City. On motion by Councilman Pinkley, seconded
by Councilman Jordan it was resolved by the following
roll call vote:
.AYES: Councilmen: Pinkley, Jordan, Wilson
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: Barck, Thompson
that the City quit claim all its right, title and
interest in and to the hereinafter described property
to Ronald R. Howard, a married man, as his sole and
separate property, and that the Mayor and the City Clerk
be authorized to execute said deed on behalf of the
City and that said deed be delivered to the U. S.
National Bank, Costa Mesa branch, Escrow Department,
with the condition that it be delivered to said Ronald
R. Howard, when said bank holds an executed grant deed
from said Ronald R. Howard to the City of Costa Mesa
for the identical parcel of property.
The property is that certain real property in the City
of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
Legal description The north 100 feet of Lot 30 in Block "C"
of Tract No. 18 as per map thereof recorded
in Book 9, page 20, Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California. EXCEPTING
THEREFROM the west 168 feet, thereof, and
an easement for ingress and egress over the
south 20 feet, thereof.

Adjournment
The Assistant City Attorney presented a grant deed
from Ronald R. Howard to the City of Costa Mesa,
conveying the above described real property, and
recommended that the City accept this deed and
authorize its recording. Councilman Jordan moved
that said aforementioned deed be accepted and its
recording authorized. The motion was seconded
by Councilman Pinkley, and carried, by the following
roll call vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Pinkley, Jordan, Wilson
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen: Barck, Thompson
On motion by Councilman Pinkley, seconded by
Councilman Jordan, and carried, the meeting was
adja=ed.
