HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/01/1965 - City Council Special Meeting1 1 1 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL .OF THE.CITY OF.COSTA.MESA - December 1, 1965 The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, met in special session at 7:00 a.m., December 1, 1965, in the Council Chamber -of the City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California, at the call of Mayor Robert M. Wilson, notification having been duly given in accordance with law, for the purpose of taking action on the following items: Entering into a contract with a golf architect for the design and supervision of a 36 -hole golf course at the Fairview State Hospital site. Authorizing payment to William Bell in the amount of $500.00 for a feasibility study of the golf course site. Authorizing the Director of Finance to draw a $500.00 advance warrant to the Costa Mesa Golf Course Non - Profit Corporation. Following the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, Mayor Wilson called the meeting to order. Councilmen Present: Pinkley, Jordan, Barck, Wilson Roll Call Councilmen Absent: Thompson Officials Present: City Manager, City Attorney, City Engineer, Director of Public Works, City Clerk The Clerk read the call for the special meeting and announced that notification had been duly given. The City Attorney summarized the action of the Costa William Bell Mesa Golf Course Non -Profit Corporation in interviewing Contract for design architects for the proposed 36 -hole course and stated of golf course that the Corporation requested approval of a contract with William Bell, golf course architect, for the design, the fee of $20,000.00 to include supervision. On motion by Councilman Barck, seconded by Councilman Jordan, and carried, the contract was approved, Action tabled On motion by Councilman Pinkley, seconded by Councilman Barck, and carried, action on authorization of payment to William Bell of $500.00 for a feasibility study of the golf course site was tabled.
