HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/08/1966 - Adjourned City Council Meetingm� �IJ�Q�ti.s� ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA February 8, 1966 The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa met in adjourned regular session at 4:00 o'clock p.m, February 8, 1966, in the Council Chamber at the City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, said meeting having been duly and regularly adjourned from the regular meeting of February 7, 1966, and a copy of the notice of adjourn- ment having been posted as required by law. The Mayor announced that the meeting was for personnel discussion with the directors of the Costa Mesa Municipal Golf Course and Country Club Corporation. Councilmen Present: Pinkley, Jordan, Barck, Thompson, Wilson Roll Call Councilmen Absent: None Officials Present: City Manager, City Attorney, Director of Public Works, City Clerk, and the following directors of the non-profit corporation: N. J. Ziener, Phil Sullivan, Dr. Carl Boswell, Louis Benny, Margaret Reinert, and Attorney George Tobias. Novel _B. James The directors of the Costa Mesa Golf Course and Country chosen Golf Course Club Corporation reported on their investigation of Operator applicants for the position of Operator -Manager of the Golf Course, and after discussion voted unanimously to recommend the choice of Novel B. James, owner and operator of the Riverview Golf Course in Santa Ana. Councilman Pinkley thereupon moved that the Council approve the choice of Mr. James and that the City Attorney and the corporation's attorney be instructed to prepare an agreement with Mr. James for the operation of the golf course. The motion was seconded by Council- man Thompson, and carried by unanimous vote.
