ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
October 13, 1969
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa met in
adjourned regular session at 7:00 p.m. in the Council
conference room at the City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa
Mesa, California, said meeting having been duly and
regularly adjourned from the regular adjourned meeting
of October 7, 1969, and a copy of the notice of adjournment
having been posted as required by law. The meeting was
called to order by the Mayor.
Roll Call Councilmen Present: Wilson, Tucker, Jordan, Pinkley
Councilmen Absent: St. Clair .
Officials Present: City Attorney, Assistant City
Manager, City Clerk
Councilman St. Clair arrived and took his seat at 7:15 p -.m.
Planning The Mayor announced that the Council would go into closed
Commission personnel session for the purpose of interviewing appli-
Candidates cants for the vacancy on the Planning Commission created
by the resignation of Commissioner Don Hout. The following
applicants were interviewed:
John G. McDonald, 136 Magnolia Street
Clarence C. Clarke, 2752 Cibola Avenue
Paul H. Foster, 2529 Littleton Place
John C. Leonhardt, 2516 Vassar Place
Rodney A. Lewis, 2851 Serang Place
Jack A. Chapman, 2882 Boa Vista Drive
Jack W. Parsons, 208 Susannah Place
Dominic J. Raciti, 1838 Newport Boulevard
Donald E. Smallwood, 1981 Kornat Drive
C. Thatcher Warren, 300+ Cleveland Avenue
All applicants having been presented to the Council, and
interviewed, the Mayor reconvened the Council in adjourned
regular session at 10:15 p.m., all Councilmen being present.
Court House Site The Mayor suggested that a letter be irritten outlining
the City's position on the Court House Facility site to
the Orange County Board of Supervisors through Stanley E.
Krause, Director -of Real Property Services for the County.
On motion by Councilman Tucker, seconded by Councilman
Jordan, and carried, the Mayor's proposal was approved.
Leonhardt Named After further discussion of pending highway proposals, the
Planning Council again reconvened in personnel session for the
Commissioner purpose of appointing a Planning:Commissioner, and on
motion by Councilman Jordan, seconded by Councilman Wilson,
and carried, John C. Leonhardt was appointed to the
Commission to fill the unexpired term of Don Hout.
Adjournment On motion by Councilman Wilson, seconded by Councilman
St. Clair, and carried, the meeting was ordered adjourned
to October 1+,,1969, in the Council Chambers at 7:30 P.M.
for the purpose of hearing further proposals in connection
with the redevelopment of downtown Costa Mesa and such
other matters as may come before the Council.
