SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF COSTA MESA
January 14, 1975
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
met in.special session at 5:30 p.m., January 14, 1975,
in the fifth floor Conference Room of City Hall, 77
Fair Drive,.Costa Mesa, at the call of the Mayor,
notice having duly been given in accordance with law,
for the purpose of discussion of the criteria for the
selection of members of the Community Development
Committee, with.interviews to take place in Executive
Session.
Roll Call Council Members Present: Wilson, Hammett, Pinkley,
Raciti, Hertzog
Council Members Absent: None
Officials Present: City Manager, Assistant City
Manager, Director of Planning,
City Clerk
Screening of
The City Manager explained that staff had received 87
Applicants
applications from prospective Community Development
Delegated
Committee members and that each applicant had been
interviewed by staff, who chose approximately 25 per-
cent of the applicants to be interviewed by the City
Council members. The Mayor said the Council, if they
so chose, could interview all 87 applicants. After
discussion, on motion by Councilman Hammett, seconded
by Councilman Pinkley, the Council approved the staff's
action.of screening the 87 applicants and announced
that if any of the applicants not chosen to be inter-
viewed by the Council objected, he or she has the
Appeal to be
prerogative of appealing to the Council for an
Allowed
interview. The motion carried unanimously.
City Manager
The City Manager left the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Leaves
Adjournment to After discussion of the criteria for the selection of
Executive Session - said members, nine to be chosen, the Council adjourned
at 6:30 p.m. to Executive Session to interview the
applicants.
Adjournment. The Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.,
to January 16, 1975, at 6:30 p.m., in the fifth floor
Conference Room of City Hall.
