ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF COSTA MESA
February 14, 1983
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California,
met in adjourned regular session on February 14, 1983,
at 5:30 p.m., in the fifth floor Conference Roan of City
Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, said meeting having
been duly and regularly ordered adjourned from the meet-
ing of February 7, 1983, -and a copy of the Notice of
Adjournment having been posted as required by law. The
meeting was called to order by the Mayor.
Council Members Present: Hall, Johnson, Hertzog,
McFarland, Schafer
Council Members Absent: None
Officials Present: City Manager, Director of
Development Services, City
Attorney, City Clerk
Early Interview The Mayor reported that Planning Catunissioner Lynn Van
Aken had been interviewed on February 7 because a prior
commitment had caused him to be absent from the City on
the scheduled date of the interviews.
Interviews The Mayor announced interviews of applicants for the
Conducted vacant seat on the Planning Commission would begin.
The following candidates were interviewed:
Chic Clarke
Walter Davenport
Mark Sloate
Joseph DeCarlo
Robert L. McLaughlin
Charles Markel
Charles L. Rcpp
Iris V. Schweitzer
Marshall Styll
Bob Wolfe
Discussion was held on the qualifications of each of the
applicants, including Mr. Van Aken, who had been inter-
viewed at an earlier date.
Planning On motion by Councilman McFarland, seconded by Vice
Commissioners Mayor Johnson, and carried unanimously, the following
Appointed applicants were appointed to serve on the Planning
Commission, effective March 1, 1983, for the term of
office as indicated: Chic Clarke, four-year term;
Walter Davenport, four-year term; Mark Sloate, two-year
term; Joe DeCarlo,-two-year term; and Charles Markel,
two-year term.
ADJOURNMENT
The Mayor adjourned
