HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/15/1993 - City Council Special Meeting26Q SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF COSTA MESA SEPTEMBER 15, 1993 The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, met in special session September 15, 1993, at 12:00 noon, in the fifth floor Conference Room of City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Notice of the special meeting was given as required by law. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. ROLL CALL Council Members Present: Mayor Sandra Genis Vice Mayor Jay Humphrey Council Member Mary Hornbuckle Council Member Joe Erickson Council Members Absent: Council Member Peter Buffa Officials Present: City Attorney Thomas Kathe Deputy City Clerk Mary Elliott Sweer/Wickline The City Attorney announced that the special meeting was called for Lawsuit the purpose of holding a closed session pursuant to Government OCSC Case 69-72-20 Code Section 54956.9(a); to discuss the lawsuit of Marijane Sweer and Blaine Douglas Wickline v. City of Costa Mesa, Orange County Superior Court Case No. 69-72-20. ADJOURNMENT At 12:10 p.m., the Deputy City Clerk was excused, and the Mayor TO SUPERIOR adjourned the meeting to Department 22 of Orange County Superior COURT Court, 700 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana. At 12:38 p.m., the Mayor reconvened the special meeting in Department 22 of Orange County Superior Court; and at 12:40 p.m., adjourned it to a closed session. ADJOURNMENT At 1:30 p.m., Mayor 'Denis'; adjourned the meeting to a closed TO CITY HALL session to discuss settlement issues. At 1:45 p.m., the Mayor reconvened :the open!: session-, and adjourned the meeting to the Costa Mesa City Hall for the purpose of announcing the action taken during closed session. 1 MOTION Settlement Authorized ADJOURNMENT II 1 At 2:10 p.m., Mayor Genis reconvened the meeting in the fifth floor Conference Room of City Hall, and the City Attorney announced the action taken during closed . session: by a vote of 4-0, Council authorized the City Attorney to settle the case for an amount not to exceed $378,600.00.
