The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3449 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa.
entitled: 'Parking Prohibited at All Time on Certain Streets.' in hereby amended by
the addition thereto of the following:
"On both sides of Harbor Boulevard between 19th Street and Wilson Street.'
SECTION 2. Section 3449 of the Mooluipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is
further amended by the deletion therefrom of the following was" restrictions which
are superseded by and included in Section 1 hereof:
'On both sides of Harbor Boulevard from the curb returns at the north aide of
West Nineteenth Street to 145 feet north of the wester lir of West Nineteenth
Street.
"On the east side of Harbor Boulevard fres the curb return at the south side
of Hamilton Street to 178 feet south of the center line of Hamilton Street.
'On the most side of Harbor Boulevard from the curb return at the south side
of Hamilton Street to 170 feet south of the center line of Hamilton Street.
"On both sides of Harbor Boulevard from the curb returns at the north side of
Hamilton Street to 210 feet north of the center line of Hamilton Street.
"On both sides of Harbor Boulevard from the curb returns at the south side of
Victoria Street to 150 feet south of the center lir of Victoria Street.
"On both sides of Harbor Boulevard from the curb returns at the north side
of Victoria Street to a point 174 feet north of the center line of Victoria
Street.
"(Harbor Boulevard restrictions added by Ordinance No. 364. adopted June 5,
1961)•
SECTION 3. Section 3448 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is
hereby amended by the deletion therefrom of the following existing restriction which
is superseded by and included in Section 1 hereof:
"When authorized signs ars in place giving notice thereof, no person eha11
stop, stand or park acy vehicle on either side of Harbor Boulevard between
Nineteenth Street and Wilson Street, between the hours of 3:00 p.m, and 6:00
p.m. of any day.' (Added by Ordinance No. 421, adopted December 4, 1961.)
SECTION 4. This Ordlrmaoe shall take effect and be in full force immediately
after its adoption. The facts constituting the urgency are as follow: Harbor
Boulevard is a major traffic artery of the City and parking in that portion between
19th Street and Wilson Street constitutes a traffic hazard and causes congestion. Us
peak of the seasonal flow of heavy traffic on Harbor Boulevard is approaching and the
safety and welfare of the public require that parking prohibition shall become effective
immediately.
SECTIOY 5. This Ordinaaae shall be published within fifteen (15) days after
its adoption in the CRAYON GMT DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the mass of the
members of the City Council voting for and against the sass.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 1st day of July, 1963.
