AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA
ESTABLISHING AN M.2 INUFACTURING DISTRICT.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, California, does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. There is hereby added to the Municipal Code of the City of
Costa Mesa a new division numbered "DIVISION XIV -A" as follows:
DIVISION XIV -A
D12 - Heavy Manufacturing District
Sec. 9295.100 . Uses Permitted.
1. Automobile Wrecking (when conducted within an enclosed building
and fencing).
2. Box Factory
3. Correctional or Penal Institutions
4. Paint, oil t shellac, turpentine, lacquer, or varnish manufacturing
(oil based)
5. Safety Match Manufacturing
6. Pickles, yeast and vinegar manufacturing
y. Planing Dulls
8. Storage, sorting, collecting, or balling of rags, paper, iron or junk
9. Acetylene gas manufacturing and storage
10. Alcohol manufacturing
11. Ammonia bleaching powder or chlorine manufacturing
12. Asphalt manufacturing or refining
13. Blast furnace or coke oven
14. Boiler works
15. Brick, tile or terra cotta manufacturing
16. Chemical manufacturing
17. Concrete and cement products
18. Cotton gin or oil mill
19. Fish smoking, curing or canning
20. Lamp black manufacturing
21. Ore reduction
22. Petroleum products manufacturing
23. Potash works
24. Sodium compounds, manufacturing
25. Stove and shoe polish manufacturing
26. Tar distillation or tar products manufacturing

27. Wool dulling or scouring
28. Tanning or hide -processing
29. Slaughter houses
30. Cement ready -mix batch plants
31. Asphalt mix batch plants
32. Acid manufacturing
33• Distillation of bone
34. Drop forge industries with power hammers
35• Explosives manufacturing or storage
36. Fat rendering
37. Fertilizer manufacturing
38. Garbage, offal or dead animal reduction
39• Gas manufacturing
40. Glue manufacturing
41. Stock yards or feeding pens
42. And in general, those uses which may be obnoxious or offensive by
reason of odor, dust, smoke, gas, noise or vibration.
Sec. 9295.101 Property Development Standards.
Same as M1.
Sec. 9295.102 Area Required.
Ten (10) acres.
Sec. 9295.103 Accessory Structures.
None.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in dill force thirty (30)
days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa,
together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against
the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, this 3rd day of February, 1964.

NOES: COUNCILMEN NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN NONE
