Re: Final Clearance Building#17 -Drywall Installation
TAB memo is to confirm that final ckatarxe air samples for the drywall i,t11gtion in Building#17 were collared
on July 11. 1997. Air samples were analyzed in general accordance with the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)Method 7400. This method describes air sampling parameters and
a protocol for analyzing air samples via Phase Contract Microscopy (PCM). The NIOSH Method 7400
describes a procedure which provides results that indicate approximate concentrations of any type of airborne
particulate matter which meet specified aspect ratio and size criteria. Particulate matter which meets the
• specified criteria are classified as fibers. The method does not count all fibers in all size ranges nor does it
• differentiate asbestos fibers from other types of fibers. KM analysis of air samples was performed at Tri-
H's field laboratory located at the site. Air samples obtained to determine if the abatement work areas met
final air clearance criteria were collected and analyzed in general a ordaaco with the• Environmental
Protection Agency's (EPA)Recommended clearance criterion of 0.01 face.
Band on the attached laboratory results and our visual observations, this building is able to be occupied without
respiratory protection. If further asbestos abatement is prrforawd in this building Tri-H should be notified to
