AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA
DESIGNATING TUSTIN AVENUE BETWEEN BAY STREET AND 23RD STREET
AS A COUNTY HIGHWAY.
The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Under the authority of Section 1700, Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the California Streets and Highways Code, State of California, the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange have declared by resolution that Tustin Avenue, between Bay
Street and 23rd Street in the City of Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California
to be a .County Highway.
SECTION 2. Under the authority of Section 1701, Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code, State of California, by this Ordinance the City of
Costa Mesa, County of Orange, State of California does hereby consent that this highway
namely, Tustin Avenue between Bay Street and 23rd Street shall become a County Highway
with respect to its construction, maintenance, improvement and repair.
SECTION 3. The consent granted by Section 2 of this Ordinance shall remain in
effect until the County of Orange under the authority of Section 1704, Article 3, Chapter
9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code, State of California, shall by resolution
relinquish its jurisdiction over said street at which time said street will again revert
to the jurisdiction of the City.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30)
days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days after
its passage, this Ordinance shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a
newspaper printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of
the ambers of the City Council voting for and against the same.
