Home My WebLink About65-13 Stopping/Standing/Parking VehiclesORDINANCE NO, bJ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL(; THE CITY OF COSTA J'USA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING DIVISION II OF ARTICLE 4 OF CHAPTER III OF THE NIIINICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA REGARDING STOP- PING, STANDING AND PARKING MOTOR VEHICLES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOUS HEREFY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1, Section 3448 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is amended to read as follows: Sec. 3448 "TRAFFIC DISTRICTS AND TONE DESIGNATIONS" The City Council of the City of Costa 'Mesa may, by resolution: a) Designate certain streets or portions of streets as Traffic District "A", 'B", "C" or "D", b) Designate certain streets or portions of streets as "No Parking Areas". Section 2. Section 3449 of the Municipal Code of the Citv of Costa Mesa is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 3449 "'PARKING TIME LIMITS" a) Traffic District A. It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor vehicle to stop said vehi- cle and leave the same so parked for a period of time longer than one hour between the hours of seven o'clock A.M. and six o'clock P.M. on any day except Sundays and holidays, within any Traffic District "i,". b) Traffic District F. It shall be unlawful for the operator of a motor vehicle to stop said vehicle and leave the same so narked for a period of time loaner than two hours between the hours of seven o'clock A.M. and six o'clock. P,?-:, on any day except -1- Sundays and holidays, within any Traffic District Is".Is ". c) Traffic District C. The City Council of the City of Costa Mcsa shall designate by resolution the specific time during which operators of any motor vehicle may park or stop the same within Traffic District "C". It shall be unlawful for the operator of any motor vehicle to stop or pakr said vehicle in excess of the time so limited by resolution of the City Council. d) Traffic District D. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa shall designate by resolution the specific time during which operators of trucks buses, campers, boats, bousetrailers and all other vehicles, other than ordinary passenger vehicles, may park or stop the same within Traffic District D. It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to stop or park such above described vehicle in ex- cess of the time so limited by resolution of the City Council. e) No Parking. It shall be unlawful to park any motor vehicle immediately adjacent to or opposite any curb which has been painted red or has been marked indicating that no parking is permitted.or where there are no curbs within any area which has been sign -posted as a "No Parking" area. f) Warning Signs. When the City Council has desig- nated any street or portions of streets as Traffic District "A", 'B", "C" or "D", it shall be the out,, -2- of the Street Department of the City of Costa Mesa, under the supervision of the chief of police to cause to be posted authorized sign or signs indicating thereon the time permitted for parking within such district. Section 3. .Sections 3449.1, 3449.2, 3449.3, 3449.4, 3449.5, 3449.6 and 3449.7 are hereby repealed. Section 4.
