HomeMy WebLinkAbout414 - Establish Certain Stop intersections -ORDINANCE No. 414 AN ORDINANCE OF TO CITY COUNCIL OF TSE CITY OF COSTA MESA AMENDING SECTIONS 3464 AND 3465 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, DESIGNATING CERTAIN THROUGH STREETS AND ESTABLISHING CERTAIN STOP INTERSECTIONS. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 34& of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 34464 Through Streets Designated. In accordance with the provisions of Section 3419 (a) and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the entrance or entrances to those intersections described as follows: At all the entrances to: ADAMS STREET, between the westerly line of Harbor Boulevard and the westerly City limits. ANAHEIM AVENUE, from the westerly line of Superior Avenve to the southerly line of Bay Street, EXCLUDING the 18th Stmt and 19th Street intersections, and EXCEPTING that north and southbound traffic shall stop at Center Street. BAKER STREET, from the easterly line of Mesa Verde Drive to the westerly line of Newport Avenue, EXCIUDING the Harbor Boulevard and Bristol Street intersections. BRISTOL STREET, from the westerly line of Newport Avenue to the northerly City limits, EXCEPTING that north and southbound traffic shall stop at Belo'r Street. BROADWAY, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of Irvine Avenue, EXCIUDING the Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue, and Tustin Avenue intersections. CALIFORNIA STREET, between the Orange County Flood Control District right of way and the easterly line of Michigan Avenue. DEL MAR AVENUE, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of Santa Ana Avenue. EIGHTEENTH STREET, EAST, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west I'm e of Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue intersections. EIGHTEENTH STREET, NEST, from the westerly City limits to the westerly line of Newport Boulevard, EXCLUDING Monrovia and Placentia Avenue intersections, and EXCEPTING that eastbound traffic shall stop at Newport Avenue. FAIR UR1VE, between the easterly line of Harbor Boulevard and the westerly line of Newport Avenue, EXCIUDING the Fairview Road intersection. FAIRVIEW ROAD, from the westerly line of Newport Avenue to the northerly City limits, EXCEPTING that north and southbound traffic shall stop at Fair Drive and EXCLUDING the Baker Street intersection. FEDERAL AVENUE, from the north line of Nineteenth Street to the south line of Victoria Street. FIFTEENTH STREET, vestbound, between the east line of Newport Boulevard Frontage Road and the westerly line of Tustin Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue and Santa Ana Avenue intersections. GISLER AVENUE, between the vest line of Harbor Boulevard and the right of way of the Orange County Flood Control District. HAMILTON STREET, from the westerly line of Harbor Boulevard to the easterly line of Placentia Avenue, EXCLUDING the Potence Avenue intersection. HARBOR BOULEVARD, between the northerly line of Talbert Avenue and the westerly line of Newport Boulevard, EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at Newport Avenue. HUNTZINGER AVENUE, from the westerly line of Harbor Boulevard to its westerly termination. IRVINE AVENUE, between the southerly City limits and the northerly City limits, EXCLUDING 17th Street and EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at 16th Street and 19th Street, and northbound traffic shall atop at 16th Street, MESA DRIVE, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the vest line of Santa Ana Avenue. MESA VERDE DRIVE, between the northerly line of Adams Street and its westerly termination. MONROVIA AVENUE, from the southerly City limits to the south line of Victoria Street, EXCLUDING the 19th Street intersection. MONTE VISTA AVENUE, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the westerly line of Santa Asa Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection. NEWPORT BOULEVARD, EAST, Frontage Road between the south line of 17th Street and the southerly City limits, EXCLUDING 16th Street intersection, and EXCEPTING that northbound traffic shall stop at 17th Street, and both north and southbound traffic at the prolongation of Industrial Way. NINETEENTH STREET, PAST, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the vest line of Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue intersections. NINETEENTH STREET, WEST, from the westerly line of Newport Boulevard to the westerly City limits, EXCLUDING Harbor Boulevard, EXCEPTING east and westbound traffic shall stop at Monrovia, Placentia and P®ona, and eastbound traffic at Newport Avenue. ORANGE AVENUE, between the southerly City limits and the south line of Mesa Drive, EXCLUDING 17th Street and Del Mar Avenue and EXCEPTING that both north and southbound traffic shall stop at the following intersections: 16th Street, 18th Street, Broadway, 19th Stmt, 20th Street, 22nd Street and 23rd Street. PAUTARINO AVENUE, from the westerly line of Newport Avenue to the westerly line of Babb Street, EXCLUDING Bristol Street, PLACENTIA AVENUE, between the southerly City limits and the southerly line of Wilson Street, EXCLUDING 19th Street and Victoria Street intersections, and EXCEPTING THAT north and southbound traffic shall stop at vest 17th Street. POMONA AVENUE, from the northerly line of Sixteenth Street to the southerly line of Wilson Street, EXCLUDING 17th Street, 18th Street, 19th Street and Victoria Street intersections, and EXCEPTING that north and southbound traffic shall stop at Hamilton Street. SANTA ANA AVENUE, between the southerly City limits and the northerly City limits, EXCLUDING 17th Street and EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at 15th Street, and both north and southboand traffic at the following intersections: 16th Street, 18th Street, Broadway, 19th Street, 22nd Street, Monte Vista Avenue and Mesa Drive intersections. SANTA ISABEL AVENUE, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the west line of Santa Ane Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection. SEVENTEENTH STREET, EAST, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard (State Highway 55) and the easterly City limits. SEVENTEENTH STREET, WEST, from the westerly line of Superior Avenue to the easterly line of Whittier Avenue, EXCLUDING Placentia, and Monrovia Avenue intersections. SIXTEENTH STREET, EAST, between the east line of Newport Boulevard (State Highway 55) and the west line of Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue, and Tustin Avenue intersections. SIXTEENTH STREET, WEST, from the westerly line of Superior Avenue to the easterly line of Placentia Avenue. SUPERIOR AVENUE, between the southerly City limits and Newport Avenue, EXCEPTING that northbound traffic shall stop at Newport Avenue. TALBERT AVENUE, from the westerly line of Harbor Boulevard to the westerly City limits. TUSTIN AVENUE, between the southerly City limits and the northerly City limits, EXCLUDING 17th Street, and EXCEPTING that southbound traffic shall stop at 15th Street and both north and southbound traffic shall stop at the following inter- sections: 16th Street, 18th Street, Broadway, and 19th Street. TWENTIETH STREET, between the east line of Newport Boulevard and the wet line of Irvine Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue, Santa Ana Avenue and Tustin Avenue intersections. TWENTY-FIRST STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection. TWENTY-SECOND STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection. TWENTY-THIRD STREET, between the easterly line of Newport Boulevard and the westerly line of Santa Ana Avenue, EXCLUDING Orange Avenue intersection. VICTORIA STREET, between the westerly line of Newport Avenue and the westerly City limits, EXCLUDING Harbor Boulevard, and EXCEPTING that east and westbound traffic shall stop at Placentia Avenue intersection. WHITTIER AVENUE, from the northerly line of 17th Street to the southerly line of Nineteenth Street, EXCLUDING the 18th Street intersection. WILSON STREET, WEST, between the wet line of Newport Avenue and the westerly City limits, EXCLUDING Fairview Road and Harbor Boulevard, EXCEPTING that east and westbound traffic shall stop at Placentia Avenue intersection. SECTION 2. Section 3465 of the Municipal Code of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 3465 Stop Intersections. In accordance with the provisions of Section 3419 (b) and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, drivers of vehicles shall stop at the entrance to those intersections described as follows: ALBERT PLACE, east and westbound at Elden Avenue. CECIL PLACE, east and westbound at Elden Avenue, CHURCH AVENUE, north and southbound at Walnut Street, COMMERCIAL WAY, eastbound at Newport Avenue, CONGRESS STREET, vestbound at State Street. DARREIZ STREET, Westbound at Republic Avenue and eastbound at Federal Avenue, FEDERAL AVENUE, northbound at Joe= Street. FORIEAM MM, north and southbound at Wake Forest Road. GOVERNOR STREET, vestbound at State Street. GROVE PLACE, eastbound at Republic Avenue, HAMILTON STREET, east and vestbound at Thurin Street, NATIONAL AVENUE, north and eouthbound at Oak Street. NEWPORT AVENUE Frontage Road, north and southbound at Broadway and East 18th Stmt extensions, southbound at Industrial Way and Superior Avenue, and north- bound at 16th Street. PARK AVENUE, north and southbound at Center Street. PRESIIENT PLACE, northbound at Oak Stmt, REMLIC AVENUE, northbound at Oak Street and southbound at Arbor Street. THURM STREET, southbound at Bay Street, VIRGINIA PLACE, east and vestbound at Elden Avenue, WAKE FOREST ROAD, east and westbound at Fordhem Drive, WILSON STREET, EAST, east and westbound at Elden Avenue. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall talo: effect and be in full force thirty (30) days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the sane.
