HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-30 Intention to vacate a portion of Lemon St. between Adams Ave and Elm AveORDINANCE NO. 62_30 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE VACATION OF LEMON STREET, BETWEEN ADAMS AVENUE AND ELM AVENUE, AND OF THE ALLEY BETWEEN ELM AVENUE AND PONDEROSA STREET LYING 185 FEET WESTERLY OF THE CENTERLINE OF HARBOR BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa has received a request that that certain street known as Lemon Street, 50 feet in width, lying between Adams Avenue and Elm Avenue in the City of Costa Mesa, be abandoned; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa has received a request that that certain alley, 15 feet in width, lying between Elm Avenue and Ponderosa Street, 185 feet westerly of the centerline of Habor Boulevard, be abandoned; and WHEREAS, said street and said alley are not now used for street purposes and will not be required for street purposes under the development of the area; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate the following described street: That portion of Lemon Street, 50 feet in width, lying between Adams Avenue and Elm Avenue in the City of Costa Mesa, as shown upon a map of Fairview recorded in Book 25, page 77 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby declare its intention to vacate the following described alley: That certain alley, 15 feet in width, running between Elm Avenue and Ponderosa Street, and lying 185 feet westerly of the centerline of Harbor Boulevard 1n the City of Costa Masa, as sham upon a map of Fairview recorded In Book 25, page 77 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California. SECTION 3. That the time and place for hearing all persons interested in the proposed vacation shall be Monday, August 6, 1962, at the hour of seven -thirty o'clock (7:30) P.M. in the Chambers of the City Council, located in the Costa Mesa City Rall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, California. SECTION 4. The City Manager of the City of Costa Mesa is hereby directed to cause notices of said proposed vacation to be posted conspicuously along said street and said alley at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing. The notices shall be posted not more than three hundred (300) feet apart, but in no event shall less than three (3) be posted. SECTION 5. This Ordinance, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT, a newspaper printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, California. SECTION 6. That the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa electM to proceed under the provisions of Division 9, Part 3. Chapter 2 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall take effect upon the completion of publication. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of July, 1962.
