HomeMy WebLinkAbout71-06 - Relating to Animal ControlORDINANCE NO. r//-6 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE ORANGE COUNTY ORDINANCES2417, 2385, AND 2216, WHICH AMEND ORANGE COUNTY ORDINANCE 2159, RELATING TO ANIMAL CONTROL, WEL- FARE, LICENSE, AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2159 of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, relating to animal control, welfare, license, and health requirements was adopted by reference by Ordinance No. 68-1 of the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa, on January 2, 1968, as the controlling ordinance of the regulation of animals in the City of Costa Mesa; and WHEREAS, Section 41.011, "Definitions"; 41.014, "Enforcement"; and 41.071, "Vicious animals", of Orange County Ordinance No.2159 have been amended by the Orange County Board of Supervisors by Ordinances 2417, 2385, and 2216, respectively; and WHEREAS, this Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City that the aforementioned ordinance amendments be approved and adopted; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance 2417, 2385, and 2216 of the Orange County Board of Super- visors are hereby approved and adopted as amendments to Orange County Ordinance No. 2159 as adopted by Ordinance No. 68-1 of the City of Costa Mesa. SECTION 2. Attached hereto and by this reference made a part thereof are Exhibit "A", Orange County Ordinance 2417; Exhibit "B", Orange County Ordinance 2385; and Exhibit "C", Orange County Ordinance 2216. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force thirty (30) days from and after its passage, and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from and after its passage shall be published once in the ORANGE COAST DAILY PILOT a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same.
