611 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA DOES HEREBY
7IIORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
8 SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Costa Mesa
9 finds and declares that it is in the best interests of persons
10 having business before the City Council at its regular meetings,
11 in the best interests of councilmen in the orderly conduct of
12 business at its regular council meetings, and likely to result in
131greater efficiency of the city staff, that the order of business
14 for the City Council of the City of Costa Mesa be amended to
15 eliminate the two-part council meeting, the first part of which
16 is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. and the second part of which is scheduled
17 at 7:30 p.m.
18 Accordingly, Section 2203 of Chapter II, Article 2, of
19 the Costa Mesa Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
20 SECTION 2.
21i "Sec. 2203. Order of Business
22 The regular meetings of the City Council of the
23 City of Costa Mesa commencing at 6:30 o'clock
p.m. shall take up its business in the following
order:

"Promptly at 6:30 p.m. on the night of each
regular meeting, members of the city Council,
City Clerk, City Attorney, and City Manager
shall assemble at their regular stations
in the Council chamber. Other officers or
department heads as from time to time may
be designated by the City Council shall also
appear at the stated time and place, to be
on hand for the assistance of members of
council, if needed.
"The order of business set forth above may,
at any meeting, on motion duly made and
carried, by changed or suspended for the
period of such meeting. The Council may,
upon motion of any councilman duly seconded
and carried, recess from time to time during
the course of any regular or special Council
meeting."
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force thirty (30) days from and after its passage and
shall, prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from its
passage, be published once in the Orange Coast Daily Pilot, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the
City of Costa Mesa, together with the names of the members of the
City Council voting for and against the same.
