RECOMMENDATION:
1. Accept the work performed by Terra Pave, Inc., and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of
Completion.
2. Release the Labor and Material Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; release the Faithful
Performance Bond one (1) year after the filing date; and release the retention monies 35 days
after the Notice of Completion filing date.
BACKGROUND:
On October 6, 2009, a construction contract was awarded to Terra Pave, Inc., 11925 Los Nietos
Road, Santa Fe Springs, California, 90670.
The work performed under this contract included the rehabilitation of Magnolia Street from the Vehicle
Parking District to Fullerton Avenue; reconstruction of the public parking areas; and reconstruction of
the alley adjacent to the parking areas.

ANALYSIS:
The work required by the contract documents was completed on January 31, 2010, to the satisfaction
of the City Engineer. The final contract cost amounted $292,744.92. A report of the final costs is
shown herein as Attachment "1 ".
A summary of the costs is as follows:
Original Contract Cost: $367,694.75
Quantity Adjustment: ($ 74,949.83)
Final Contract Cost: $292,744.92
The final contract price reflects a twenty percent (20%) decrease to the original contract as a result of the
quantity adjustment.
As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to Terra Pave, Inc.
ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:
There were no alternatives considered for this item.
FISCAL REVIEW:
There is no fiscal impact due to this item.
LEGAL REVIEW:
There is no legal review required on this item.
CONCLUSION:
The rehabilitation of Vehicle Parking Lot District No. 1 has been completed. It is recommended that
the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion; release the remaining retention
monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date; and release the bonds accordingly.
