Mayor: Reads: "On behalf of the Costa Mesa City Council I would like to thank Mr. Byrum General Manager of Village Nurseries of Huntington Beach for his generous donation of water wise plants. The donation allowed the City's water wise gardens to be completed and available for public viewing. The donation included a wide variety of beautiful plants that were used to complete eight water wise gardens, `Tropical with a Conscience", "California Shade Garden", "Go Global, Save Water", "California Cottage", "Filtered Shade" "Mediterranean" `A Red Garden" and "Go Green with Low Water Plants and No Water Stream" I would also like to thank Landscape Designers Brooke Dietrich, Cherie Ciotti-Roco, Laura Dalton and Katie Cool who worked cooperatively with the City and the Mesa Consolidated Water District to design the eight water wise demonstration gardens. The gardens were installed by City crews around Costa Mesa City Hall. The gardens provide Costa Mesa residents and visitors to City Hall with examples of the many colorful choices for drought tolerant and water efficient plants that will thrive in soils and growing conditions found in the City. Together their generous donation of plants, design expertise and creativity provided the foundation for the timely "green" project.
