Accept the work performed by Ron Brehm Construction, Inc., and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. 2. Release the Labor and Material Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; release the Faithful Performance Bond one (1) year after the filing date; and release the retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date. BACKGROUND: On June 15, 2010, a construction contract in the amount of $134,954.20 was awarded to Ron Brehm Construction, Inc., 833A South Main Street, No. 343, Fallbrook, California, 92028. The scope of work under this contract consisted of removal of the existing alley and construction of a new concrete alley; and other work needed to complete the project in accordance with the contract documents. Before Construction Construction Completed 1 ANALYSIS: The work required by the contract documents was completed on July 30, 2010, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. The final contract cost amounted to $126,351.88. A report of the final costs is shown herein as Attachment "1 ". A summary of the costs is as follows: Original Contract Cost: $134,954.20 Final Quantity Adjustment: ($8,602.32) Final Contract Cost: $126,351.88 The final contract price reflects a six percent decrease to the original contract as a result of the aforementioned final quantity adjustments. As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to Ron Brehm Construction, Inc. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED: There were no alternatives considered for this item. FISCAL REVIEW: There is no fiscal impact due to this item. LEGAL REVIEW: There is no legal review required on this item. CONCLUSION: The Rehabilitation of Alley 63 and 64, City Project No. 10-04 has been completed. It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion; release the remaining retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date; and release the bonds accordingly.
