Accept the work performed by Rite -Way Roof Corporation, and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. 2. Release the Labor and Material Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; release the Faithful Performance Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; and release the retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date. BACKGROUND: On August 17, 2010 a construction contract in the amount of $198,998.00 was awarded to Rite -Way Roof Corporation, 15425 Arrow Route, Fontana, California, 92335. The scope of work for this project included the abatement of hazardous materials, repair to the wood roof decking, and complete roof replacement in compliance with Title 24 Energy Efficiency Standards at the Old Corporation Yard, 2300 Placentia Avenue, Costa Mesa. Before Cool Roof Replacement Cool Roof Replacement Completed 1 ANALYSIS: The work required by the contract documents was completed on November 1, 2010, to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. The final contract cost amounted to $198,685.00. A report of the final costs is shown herein as Attachment "1 ". A summary of the costs is as follows: Original Contract Cost: $198,998.00 Final Quantity Adjustment ($ 313.00) Final Contract Cost: $198,685.00 The final contract price reflects a less than one percent decrease to the original contract as a result of the aforementioned final quantity adjustments. As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to Rite -Way Roof Corporation. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED: There were no alternatives considered for this item. FISCAL REVIEW: This project was funded entirely with Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds. LEGAL REVIEW: There is no legal review required on this item. CONCLUSION: The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Roof Replacement at the Old Corporation Yard, City Project No. 10-09 has been completed. It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion; release the remaining retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date; and release the bonds accordingly.
