SUBJECT: SAFE ROUTE 2 SCHOOL HANDICAP RAMP IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT — PHASE I

RECOMMENDATION:
Accept the work performed by J. RDMMAC, Inc. and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice
of Completion.
BACKGROUND:
On July 15, 2009, a construction contract in the amount of $21,890 was awarded to
J. RDMMAC, Inc., Post Office Box 1481, Victorville, California, 92393. This Safe Route 2
School federally funded project increased pedestrian accessibility at the ten (10) parkway
locations listed on Attachment 1.
The scope of work for this project consisted of modifying existing parkway improvements to
incorporate new handicap ramps; installing truncated domes; and other miscellaneous work
to enhance pedestrian accessibility at each location.

ANALYSIS:
The work as required by the contract documents was completed on October 7, 2009 to the
satisfaction of the City Engineer. The final contract cost amounted to $21,890.
As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to J. RDMMAC, Inc.
ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:
There were no alternatives considered for this item.
FISCAL REVIEW:
This project was funded entirely from Air Quality Management District (AQMD) funds.
LEGAL REVIEW:
There is no legal review required on this item.
CONCLUSION:
The Safe Route 2 School Handicap Ramp Improvements Project — Phase I has been
completed. It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of
Completion.
