SHELTON @ (714) 754-5328 RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council approve the Mayor's appointments to the Boards of the: Costa Mesa Conference and Visitor Bureau (CMCVB) and Transportation Corridor Agency (TCA). BACKGROUND: The City of Costa Mesa is represented on a number of committees, boards and agencies throughout the County. In most cases, the Mayor has the authority to appoint the Council representative. However, the by-laws of the Boards cited above require formal Council approval of the Mayor's appointments. ANAI YSIS- The Mayor has put forth the following Council appointments to the respective boards: Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer and Council Member Eric Bever (alternate) to the CMCVB and Mayor Gary Monahan and Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer (alternate) to the TCA. All appointments will be for a two-year term. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED: Do not approve the appointments. 1 CONCLUSION: Staff is recommending that the City Council formally approve the following two-year appointments by the Mayor: Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer and Council Member Eric Bever (alternate) to the CMCVB and Mayor Gary Monahan and Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer (alternate) to the TCA.
