I wish to nominate Officer Kha Bao of the
for consideration as employee of the month for the following reasons:

Department
Officer Kha Bao is the advisor for Police Explorer Post 198 herein Costa Mesa. Officer Bao began preparing for this
year's marathon several months ago. He networked with other advisors to get their posts to commit to working our event
rather than other events. In doing so he secured 81 explorers from 10 posts to assist our 15 explorers in working the OC
Marathon. Without Officer Bao's explorers, the police department would not be able to safely staff the three routes for the
OC Marathon.
On the day of the OC Marathon, Officer Bao was tasked with briefing the explorers and their advisors, coordinating their
assignments, and hosting a lunch thanking them for their service. He made sure each explorer was accounted for and felt
appreciated.
I have had the opportunity to witness Officer Bao mentor our future leaders and prepare them for life and a possible
career in law enforcement. Officer Bao is to be commended for his dedication and commitment to going beyond his
obligation as a peace officer to make a difference in the lives of so many young people. His work on the OC Marathon
was invaluable.
