Accept the work performed by Golden State Constructors, Inc. and authorize the City Clerk to file the Notice of Completion. 2. Release the Labor and Material Bond seven (7) months after the filing date; release the Faithful Performance Bond one (1) year after the filing date; and release the retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date. BACKGROUND: On June 21, 2011 a construction contract in the amount of $169,305.00 was awarded to Golden State Constructors, Inc., 6162 Galipean Drive, Huntington Beach, California, 92647. The scope of work consisted of removal of the existing alley sections, construction of new concrete pavement sections, sidewalk, curb ramps, and driveway approaches as required by the contract documents. Before Construction P Construction Completed 1 ANALYSIS: The work required by the contract documents was completed on August 29, 2011 to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. The final contract cost amounted to $166,702.36. A report of the final costs is included herein as Attachment "1 ". A summary of the costs is as follows: Original Contract Cost: $169,305.00 Final Quantity Adjustments ($ 2,602.64) Final Contract Cost $166,702.36 The final contract price reflects a 1.5% decrease to the original contract as a result of the final quantity adjustments. As of this date, there are no Stop Notices filed against the monies due to Golden State Constructors, Inc. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED: There were no alternatives considered for this item. FISCAL REVIEW: This project was funded from appropriated CDBG funds in the Fiscal Year 2010-2011 budget. LEGAL REVIEW: There is no legal review required on this item. CONCLUSION: The 2010-2011 Community Development Block Grant Alley Improvement Project, Bay Street Alley No. 40 (Project "A") and Ford Road Alley No. 41 (Project "B"), has been completed. It is recommended that the City Council authorize staff to file the Notice of Completion; release the remaining retention monies 35 days after the Notice of Completion filing date; and release the bonds accordingly.
