This letter is written in support of the additional days for selling fireworks in the City of
Costa Mesa. We are so thankful for this fundraising opportunity. In these difficult
economic times and when educational budgets continue shrink, these monies really help
us to offer a full athletic program for our students.
While our programs do many fundraisers during the course of the year, the firework
stands are a way for our programs to make a substantial amount of money in short period
of time. For many of our programs, this is the one fundraiser that allows them to fund
their teams for the entire year. Without these stands our students and parents would
have to spend many more hours fundraising and look at the possibility of eliminating
levels of competition.
The additional days of selling fireworks are greatly needed for the reasons stated already.
We want to thank the City of Costa Mesa and the City Council for their continued
support of our schools and athletic programs. If you have any questions regarding
Estancia High School's need for these stand and the additional hours requested, feel free
